Import of leather goods, textiles, and apparel, with the labeling and certifications the category requires.
We handle the import of leather goods —handbags, bags, suitcases, leather footwear— and of apparel and textile products: two product families that share the same customs process but not always the same regulatory requirements.
In both cases, the product must carry, before it goes on sale, labeling in the national language: for apparel and textiles, the Mercosur Technical Regulation under Resolución SCI 549/2021 applies; for footwear, Resolución SC 465/2018; for leather goods with no dedicated regulation, the general labeling regime of Decreto 274/2019. On top of that comes correct tariff classification —a sensitive point in textiles and apparel, where similar headings can carry different treatment— and, when the product requires it, personal-protective-equipment safety certification, issued by any body recognized and accredited with the OAA. Import licenses were repealed in December 2023 (Res. 1/2023 SC), and the Import Statistics System (SEDI) was eliminated in February 2025 (RG Conjunta ARCA–SIyC 5651/2025), with no replacement system; in 2025, Decreto 236/2025 also cut import duties on garments, footwear, fabrics, and yarns.

Labeling in the national language (regulation by category)
Before it goes on sale, the goods must be labeled in the national language. For apparel and textiles, the Mercosur Technical Regulation under Resolución SCI 549/2021 applies; for footwear, Resolución SC 465/2018; for leather goods with no dedicated regulation, the general labeling regime of Decreto 274/2019.
Safety certification (personal protective equipment)
Mandatory safety certification when the product requires it —typically personal protective equipment—, issued by any body recognized and accredited with the OAA (INTI, IRAM, TÜV, Bureau Veritas, or others). Since Decreto 892/2025, recognized international certificates and test reports are also accepted.
Import licenses and SEDI
Two distinct facts: automatic and non-automatic import licenses were repealed in December 2023 (Res. 1/2023 SC), and the Import Statistics System (SEDI) wasn't eliminated until February 26, 2025 (RG Conjunta ARCA–SIyC 5651/2025), with no replacement system. The category's more recent news in 2025 was tariff-related: Decreto 236/2025 cut import duties on garments, footwear, fabrics, and yarns.
